Vacancy Details:



HR Assistant role will be required for the HR Strategy and Policy Team.
Required to have good admin skills,
MS Word, Excel, cover a team Outlook inbox. General admin supporting the HR team with Policy Development as well as supporting the co-ordination of Job Evaluation process.




Provide technical and specialist support for the development of HR business systems and the analysis and assessment of HR services to ensure effective workforce reporting and to inform HR service delivery.





Provide technical support for the assessment of the effectiveness of HR services and programmes by the analysis and interpretation of data to enable service delivery improvements throughout the Council.



Operate HR business systems and provide technical support for system development to ensure effective HR service delivery.



Co-ordinate and provide administrative support for the implementation of the People Plan across the organisation to ensure effective workforce solutions.



Provide technical support for the development of workforce reporting systems to capture Council and school wide data and enable detailed analysis and reasoned workforce plans.



Analyse and review all sources of workforce information and undertake statistical analysis to highlight trends to inform HR service delivery.



Co-ordinate and supervise the workforce data and information reporting process and complete statistical returns for corporate, regional and national requests in order that accurate information is conveyed on time.



Analyse, evaluate and interpret complex business development information so that managers have up-to-date information with which to inform HR decisions.


Administer arrangements for predictive workforce modelling to enable informed workforce decisions to be made based on a range of alternatives.



Co-ordinate, monitor and supervise specific elements of the strategic workforce assessment process in order to deliver organisational objectives.



Allocate and check the work of clerical staff, as required, so that work standards, discipline and a good image are achieved.


The job holder may be required at any time to undertake any work up to and/or at a level consistent with existing responsibilities.  These tasks may be at any location in Cheshire East, to ensure the effective deployment of labour, materials, transport and equipment to meet daily service requirements.



Relevant vocational qualification e.g. NVQ Level 4 or BTEC Higher



Several years experience of working in an HR or business development environment

Job related Knowledge

Cheshire East organisational structures and culture

Sound grasp of relevant administrative processes


Performance indicator methodology, data audits, statistical analysis, predictive workforce modelling


Research methods


Understanding of servicing meetings


Detailed knowledge of business development policies, procedures and processes


Data Protection and Freedom of Information principles

Skills and Aptitudes


Use of Microsoft Office applications, IT packages, etc


Skills to analyse and interpret information/data, identify trends and present information clearly to a range of audiences

Other requirements


Strong numeracy and literacy skills
